Prof. Kirtypal Singh (ਕਿਰਤੀਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ; born 1991, Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India) is a student activist and General Secretary of Aam Aadmi Party, Hoshiarpur. He is a recipient of the 2016 University Honor Roll from Lovely Professional University during his degree of Master of Philosophy in Biotechnology. He hails from middle class family with higher assets of education, as his grandfather Sardar Sucha Singh was graduated in Bachelors of Arts from University of Punjab, Lahore.
Prof. Kirtypal Singh is graduated in Bachelor’s Degree of Science, 2013 from Panjab University Chandigarh. Then later in August, 2013 he joined at Lovely Professional University Punjab to pursue further studies in Master of Science degree in Biotechnology.
In mean time he joined political revolution “Anna Andolan” out of which Aam Aadmi Party was floated. In May, 2015 he earned his Master of Science in Biotechnology from Lovely Professional University.
Later in 2017 he got graduated in Master of Philosophy in Biotechnology from Lovely Professional University, Punjab. Where he challenged his own (awarded) M.Phil. Degree because Lovely Professional University administration had compromised the quality of education by not following UGC (University Grants Commission) guidelines of Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degrees) Regulations, 2016. As the case, Prof. Kirtypal Singh was awarded with M.Phil. Degree without conducting an external examiner viva-voice, where he himself without compromising his ethics, challenged his M.Phil. Degree in UGC, New Delhi and requested UGC, New Delhi to look into irregularities of Lovely Professional University. On taking notice of such irregularities, later UGC asked Lovely Professional University to re-award M.Phil. degree according to established procedure by law.
Currently he is a Doctoral Research Scholar in Biotechnology. Now parallel to his research work, he is working with various student organizations of India to curb the corruption in education and following the reforms in education system by promoting compulsory, fair, free & equality in our education system.
